DD, for the final 'turkey shoot', I think even a few Game Mastered salvos of light mortar fire onto our positions (with a few preliminary spotting rounds to tension things up) would have really changed things up on our side, and added a bit more dynamics to the situation.
Can the GM drop smoke the same way he drops HE? Because the AI doesn't use smoke to provide concealment so maybe the GM can help them a bit on that by providing concealment and then try to give some flanking movement orders. Wouldn't have helped in this particular case since there was no immediate way to flank across the river but maybe in the future.
