ARMA III [Online Co-Op] Roll Call

Cool! Can't for the screens and debriefing. I just woke up after a long nightshift...

We had 7 players... great turn out. And we succeeded in our mission. It was funny me and Ithikial were rigging the explosives to a transmitter and the other guys were providing overwatch when first me then Ithikial accidentall y flicked on the 40 second timer... talk about fast feet... LOL

Hahahaha that sure would have been a funny sight

Thanks for letting me join up. Could not find the stash in the dark. Thanks for directing me guys. Fun for the short time I was on. I think I popped two guys in my short tour. My game went to the desktop but I could still hear you guys. Not sure what happened. I tried to exit out and reconnect but it kept saying server was unavailable. Is there a specific way to get back into a game? Or once out you have to wait until it ends?

Found my mic so I should be good next time.

'twas fun, though I think our shoe laces were tied together! There's quite a few good coop missions in the steam workshop, we could also try them. I'm a techno knoob, is there any guides on how to setup a server? I got some hardware leftover from a past company but don't know if it is competent enough to run as a server.

Y'all have me considering taking the plunge and purchasing Arma 3. I have a few questions, though. How are the flight models on the choppers and fixed wing a/c? Have they improved any since Arma 2? Has the AI improved at all? Does it still feel like OFP in regards to character movement? That was one of my biggest disappointments with Arma 2. It looked a whole lot better, but the OFP awkward clunkiness was still there. I sank a bunch of time into OFP, skipped Arma and played Arma 2 for about a year before I got bored with it and gave it away to a friend. Would you say Arma 3 is a better experience than 2?

Thanks for the link Vartuoosi! I decided to buy Arma 3, and you're right, it has improved quite a bit. Character movement is a whole lot smoother than Arma 2, and the stance adjustments are a great feature. I have to say, I'm really liking it. The fixed wing flight model is still atrocious (I wouldn't expect DCS level FMs, but something that at least tries to address the basic physics of flight would be nice), but the choppers don't seem to be as bad; pretty similar to Arma 2 from what I remember.

Count me in for some co-op action with y'all, even though I can only probably play for an hour or so. Steam name is rambler. There's a few different ramblers, so look for the one that has an A-10 avatar.

I've always stayed away from fixed wing aircraft in ARMA as I'm a shocking pilot. I don't have a joystick hooked up to the PC so I've always blamed that for my crap flying skills but in truth it's sensitive as hell and I can't get the balance right. I crash more helicopters than I bring back and hitting eject is safer for the fighter pilot than trying to land.

:D Yeah, the planes are squirrely as all get out, especially with the keyboard. A joystick makes them easier to control, for sure. The helos are pretty easy to fly with the mouse and keyboard, though. I actually enjoy the flying aspects of the game, so if y'all need a CAS pilot or helo driver, I'm more than happy to fill that role.
