Battle of the Bulge

I'd rather see vast game engine improvements than more base games. Also, how is this title taking so long to develop? Seriously, it is the same base code as the other titles, has a few extra vehicles, and a few more formations.

I don't think the revenue generated by the games is able to support many (as in more than three perhaps) people working full-time. There's so much you can do with some members of the team working part-time (my guess is that both Phil C. and Chris are not working full time) and volunteers doing most of the 3D modeling, texturing work and testing. You hit some unseen problem or uncover a nasty bug, and your schedule just flies out of the window... what is amazing is that they eventually manage to deliver.

To be honest I'll just be grateful when they get it out.

Combat Mission is the wargame I dreamed about when I first played a computer wargame in '87. Then i dreamed of being able to recreate the 1/300th and 15mm tabletop games of my youth. So far it is better than that (graphically/convenience and accuracy) and I see it only getting better.

However having seen the evolution of "serious" wargaming on the PC from then to now, I understand that this is a SLOW evolutionary process constrained by technical developements (software - & hardware - is designed around fast & flashy FPS's not technical accuracy) and small budgets (primarily caused by it being a small niche within a niche market.)

I am not trying to be the grumpy old man who has seen it all and muttering in the corner (twas better in my day) - this is a great time to be a wargamer. BUT I do try to be reasonable as well as mildy crazy and unbalenced.
