Not too surprising.. I predicted a couple of years ago that Steve would cash out. It's been pretty obvious that his heart has not been in it for a long time now.

Hopefully the aquisition will mean slitherine will actually start investing in some resources to improve the game and push it forward in a meaningful way.

It's been that long ago, but Combat Mission Beyond Overlord had a random map generator, didn't it?

Yes, all CMx1 games did.

Not only that, it had an AI that could play all maps on its own, even the generated ones.

Now, the quality of the maps was not always top notch. But it was overall way good enough to do random quickbattles on there. In compatetive play we usually allowed one map reject per person when setting up a game.

I went to register my games over at Matrix and immediately hit a snag.

I go to matrix where it says to “Register a new serial”
I click on “Combat Mission Battle for Normandy”
I enter my activation code for CMBN and get:

“Sorry, but your serial is not valid for the game you selected.”

Thinking I did something wrong I did the same thing for “CMBN Commonwealth and it registered.

Tried CMBN Market Garden and got the same Sorry message.

Any of you tries to register a CM game?

I got similar message for my SN for very first CMBN purchase. I then tried my next one which I think was an engine upgrade. All others worked fine though I might have had something similar with CMFI where it took engine upgrade but not original.

Everything shows up for me but I have not tried downloading from slithering much less tried registering on Steam as well.
