Looking a gouge in the armour plate made by a 50mm anti-tank round, somewhere in Libya, June 1942.
Does anybody recognize what type of AFV that is?
I'd say an M3 Grant or Lee ... but that front hatch (missing) is hinged wrong ...
I was thinking it is a Brit inside and Axis vehicle ... like maybe a PzIII or an M13/40.
I was looking at the MG in proximity to the cannon and searching Allied tanks of 1942 and none seem to have turret MG like that.
Maybe a 38(t) but like Rico says the hatch hinge seems wrong,

Upon further consideration, I think its is either an M3 Lee or M3 Grant. When the shell impacted the front of the tank, it appears to have knocked the hatch off of the tank.
