I ended up going with the Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 motherboard.

Interesting.... let me know how it works. The vast majority of the games I play are turn based type strategy games, so I’m not a big overclocker.

It's been a few years since I built my current gaming desktop. Is Windows 10 still free? How does one go about doing a fresh Windows 10 install on a brand new PC? Need to boot to a USB drive with an install package loaded?

I bought the disk, I don't think the update is free anymore but I don't know for sure.
I am still running 7 so I will find out how to do the install when I'm done putting the machine together.

I bought a windows 10 usb.....I’ve been on an iMac so long that I didn’t have a previous version of windows.

You just put the usb in when you fire it up for the first time and install it from there.
