CMBN Allied DAR Meat Grinder Vs DellieJonut ***DJ STAY OUT***

Two turns later. I'm going to tell a story with pictures.

Synopsys:

(1) Lost the Firefly that I was trying to flank with.
(2) The wheat field advance is pretty much over, IMO. 90% of them are killed/wounded.
(3) DJ has a lot more troops in the forested area than I thought he did. They are able to deliver withering small arms fire. This, besides the Panthers, is the main threat now.
(4) I'm pulling out of the forest and going to try to defend the buildings.
(5) I'm down two tanks, but I still have three Fireflies and one Churchill 75 in good order. DJ has three Panthers that I know of, and a *lot* of troops.

No pictures this time..........but a VIDEO!

Synopsys:

(1) DJ had a few more men in the wheat field. They dead now.

(2) I stupidly....er....boldly moved a Firefly forward to confront the Panther that DJ is advancing up the road, forgetting about.....er....in an effort to lure the Panther on the other side of the wheat field into showing itself. It did. Fortune favored me this time, however, as the Panther chose to shoot at a mortar team rather than the Firefly. The Firefly shot twice at the Panther, and scored hits both times. The first one deflected, and the second one put a nice new hole in the Panther's mantlet. I also herd an "Oh Gott" coming from the Panther, so that makes at least two of the tank crew KIA/WIA. I suppose I'll see if it is still functional next turn.

(3) Positioned some troops in stone buildings just in time to mow down some of DJ's advancing horde.

(4) I lost almost all of the troops I had positioned on my far left flank. Guess I waited too long to give them orders to bug out.

(5) I still have the Churchill and am bringing it around to support my effort to hold the buildings.

No pictures or videos this time. My forces finished off that Panther, but, as I suspected he would, DJ took out the offending Firefly with another Panther that he was advancing up the road. There were a few more infantry casualties on both sides.

So, I still have two Fireflies and one Churchill in good order, but DJ has two Panthers and I seem to be greatly outnumbered in ground troops. Let's see what happens next.

15 minutes left in the battle, unless it goes into "overtime".

Lost all my Fireflies. One of them achieved a penetrating hit on one of DJ's Panthers, but it definitely was not a disabling hit, because that Panther managed to take out my remaining two Fireflies.

At this point, with 12 minutes left, I'm just going to try to keep some troops in the VL in an effort to minimize DJ's victory. I do still have a 75mm Churchill, but it will need a flanking shot to take out a Panther.

Battle Report:

I'm getting my ass whupped. Rather than bore you with the details, which I'm sure DJ will gladly provide in his thread, I'm going to try to play some music appropriate to the gravity of my...."situation".

There comes a time when a man realizes he is beaten and he decides to quit running around the map like a little sissy girl. That time has come for me. ;-)

Good game, DJ. You outplayed me from start to finish and you deserve this win. Salute!

Great read, MG. I lol'd at your analysis of my Children of the Corn :D I thought they would be better off but I should have known you were going to grind them into flour.

GG, let's do another soon.

Good Game Meat Grinder, you can't win them all.......may I offer you some strong mead to curb your sorrow
