Okay so overdue update time the turns over the holidays were quite eventful and who wins may just be decided in the current fight but we will need to see.
So before i left everything had went very quiet for a good number of turns and aside from some mortars and mg fire on the left flank there was little happening, one of the possibilities that is happening right now is that Floki is shifting his troops that were staging on my right over to the forested objective on the left as all the sound contacts and infantry that i had spotted earlier has seemingly left. One of my infantry hiding in a building spotted a halftrack running away with a full squad so it seems likely (And from the last turn i played certain) that most of Floki's troops are now concentrating on the forest.
After a few probes with one or two scouts something a bit more intimidating pokes its head out of the overgrowth between the trees and more or less confirmed my thoughts of where all the Halftracks were going
All of this was a bit of a shock to have them suddenly appear right in front of me but however thanks to the spot on the lone halftrack racing across the main road i had suspected this was coming. The main question i have now is whether Floki has abandoned the righternmost objective completely which would imply he either needs the troops he had ready to attack to win on the left, or he knows that my infantry based force lacks mobility and is seeking to crush one objective at a time. Either way this feels like an excellent opportunity for me, in the best case scenario i can throw most of what i have left into the trees and possibly force a victory (Unlikely) or most possibly i can at least attrit the attacking troops down to the point where i can at least force a cease fire draw.
Thankfully one of my reinforcing platoons had made it to the houses garrisoning my troops shortly before
And even better my fire support has been rolling into position
This is an overview from my prior turn before last and should give a decent overview of what is happening (Minus annotations which i will showcase with the next turn i update)
Above while it can't be seen fully there are at least 3 halftracks in an arrowhead formation assaulting the scattered remnants of my troops in the center and some extra troops on the flanks harassing my men still guarding the right side.
Following this turn i reversed the AVRE from its current position and fell back to the safety of one of my PLTs where it can give them some fire support and a small firefight has broken out with the 3 units still holding the treeline at the edge of the objective.
