Guys I keep getting errors when I update CMBF to v1.02. Once the instalation is done the game gives an error... 
Just tested mine, working OK.
Had bad problems before. Did you download and open it in CM:FB?
When I had problems, I opened it on desktop... files got confused.

Yes openen it in CMFB. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Updated to v1.01 and now alle unit names are CMBS?
That's a pain... Sure wiser folk will be along soon.

CMFB updated 1.02. Extracted folder from zip file and run installer. CMFB seems to be working.

The first time I installed v1.02 it didnt work right, I reloaded patch v1.01 then installed patch v1.02 and everything came out fine... The only thing you have to remember is to make sure your locating the proper location on your machine of the main .exe file for the game... I have all my CMx2 stuff loaded on a separate solid state drive, which is not default so I have to adjust for that...

What @Fredrocker said - plus: The symptom you reported about odd text strings appearing especially from another game indicates that the installer found other files from other games and installed them. All of BattleFront's installers need to be unzipped into a clean empty sub folder to the installer will not find other files and mix them together.
From the sound of it you will need to uninstall and reinstall. Each time you unpack and installer make sure you put all its files in a new empty folder and run the setup program from there.

If you're using the mod "Vins Animated Text", this could also cause the issues you're describing (it will screw up all text with a new version of a specific CM game).
The mode has to be updated for each new version which comes with an updated "strings.txt".
When you delete the mod you should be fine.

I don't use that mod only Juju's, Aris and Umlauts mods.
OK, if you're sure, then I guess re-installing and hoping for the best is your only option now. Good luck.

The strange part is that I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times already...
Mine is as Good as Gold .....Such a pain when it won't work
