CMFI/GL PBEM battle

Fine - take your time!

According to some posts here at the forum H2HH seems to confuse even itself.... *gg! :D

Rico,
Any more slots available?
I have FI/GL, but remains largely untouched by me at the moment. Happy to play any scenario.

 British tactical victory! (546 : 291)

Tough defence, Rico! Thank you very much for this exciting match and your super high turn rate - excellent! :)
Congrutalions to your well deserved victory! :) I will report my defeat to the ladder as soon as it is working again
(started a little excel sheet to list all my gaming results so far - nothing will get lost).

Good game, mate - thank you very much!

Hopefully we will do a re-match very soon. :)

Yes, fun game ... had to go for defence in depth and abandon the forward victory locations (no way of holding them) ... and then there's that lucky arty barrage that arrived late, but hit your infantry just as they started their second phase attack ... I decided to not court martial my artillery commander at that point :)

Sure -- set another one up -- I'll play any setting (except night battles are a little annoying)

PS: plse upload last turn ... so I can see final map :)

Turn sent - my fault, sorry! I thought I was the one to receive the last file because I couldn't see turn #63 in the dropbox... - but I had the game still open and running on my PC while I was posting the result here... *gg! (only changed window with Alt + Tab)

Well, two of my three StuGs had their gun broken... *gg! ;) And my losses were very high too - maybe even in 45 minutes I couldn't have changed much.

I prefer 30 minute games (on medium maps) because the attacker is forced to push forward and can not swap his tanks from here to there and so on.
In 45 minute games most of the time the attacker wins because he has more units and material. (That was nearly always the case in the open, free-wheeling
Normandy and Sicily campaigns - you remember? - there it was very important to attack and attack and attack). A sharper time limit for the attacker could have solved this
but I was not aware of this at that time.

OK then - I will set up a game with me as the British defender and you as the German attacker.

Great! :)

I agree ... I prefer 30 minute battles as well :)

OK, new file sent! :)

Ah, regarding the night battles - I think with the "brightness button" (Alt + B) night battles are no longer a problem, aren't they? (But don't worry - conditions are the same like in our last match).

Hi Rico, I hardly know the British units - did play them only one time in "Normandy" so far - finally found a reasonable selection - but then when I was about to do the
deployment, the setup zone bug appeared again....o_O
I have now re-painted the setup zones of our game and saved it as a German attack map. New file is in our db folder.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience... - hopefully you are still interested in a match...?

Yes it is - I think it should be no problem for a computer (or programmer) to place an "if condition" into the programme... -> like this: "If attacker is = German, paint attacker setup zone red".

Anyway... we are starting over! ;) Thx!

One of my opponents has been effectively cut off from the internet by his move to another state, so I'm up for a scenario of sorts.

@Rico: Finally, finally my men re all in position now....! Turn #003 is in the db and we can start shooting at each other! ;) Have fun and good luck, mate!
...and thank you for your patience! :)

@AntiApplicability : No more scenarios for me at the moment - thank you. I hope you'll find a gaming partner!

@Rico: Oh man, can it be...??? I managed to re-deploy my AT gun behind that farmyard/wall despite heavy artillery fire and right in that moment when I was trying to aim
at one of your panzers, another comes around the corner and rolls over the gun... aaaahhh! LOL!!! :) I should have seen it coming...

No worries. Chances are I'll be around when your slots open again.

I decided to try that tactic ... used to work in CMx1 if done fast enough ... but then that damn tank got bogged trying to cross that empty stream bed ... sigh.:rolleyes:

My luck (for th moment...) - this tank has done enough damage already! A real pain to me! *gg! :) Later you will see that he has even survived my mine trap too! ;)
What a hell of a killing machine! LOL!!!
