CMFI v4 live

I installed CMFI engine 4. I activated 4 and 3. Now it is asking me for my authorization license for version 2. I do not have that code. When I went to BF to check my account, I have version 1, 3, 4 and Gustav Line. I have opened a ticket with BF, but still waiting to hear back.
Try using your v3 code

Another thought @Nort , you may need to activate them all again in order 1 thriugh 4 (?)

Battlefront (Steve) have said that it doesn't matter which order you do them in ... my bet is that it's the Gustav Line key that needs entering, as you suggest above ...

I *think* I'm correct in saying that with the latest upgrade, CMFI has gone from "Game engine 3, v1.2" to "Game engine 4, v2.0" ...

So ... unlike CMBN (which is at v4.0), for CMFI v2.0 IS (?) the latest, game engine 4, upgrade ...??

You have used the "v4" key as well? I bought the upgrade pack for everything back when they first came out apart from CMFI ... I went back to that key and used that for CMFI as well.

I used the v4 key. I also bought the upgrade pack for everything back when they first came out. I used that key. Actually, I have gone to "My Account" at BF, and entered every single code into the activation. It says that I have successfully upgraded all of the CMBN modules. My CMBN, CMRT and CMFB work just fine. When I start my CMFI, it asked me to install the code for v.2. I hope BF can help ... but, for some reason, I am starting to have my doubts.

Bummer!

BF / Steve have said that some people will have old keys that just won't work: hopefully (well, sort of!) those people include you, and once they get to your helpdesk ticket they can sort you out.

Clutching at straws, the only other thing I can think of is: did you by any chance (like me) keep an old version, as well as upgrading a separate copy, to have a dual install? If so, is the activate new products shortcut pointing to / applying ALL the keys to the correct, and same, copy? Something could have gone wrong that way??

Still waiting for advice from BF on how to best proceed.
I just received this as part of a larger text in my e mail, thought it may shed some light.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! The modernization of CMFI comes with one quirk... you need to relicense all of your previous CMFI purchases. NO EXCEPTIONS! This is necessary because CMFI now uses the same updated fully cross platformable, easier to use copy protection system that all the other supported CM Families use. Here is a link with some helpful instructions for licensing:

I think I may be onto something. I do not have an "Activate New Products" short cut in your CMFI folder. How do I go about making that happen?

If you don't have the shortcut (should be created and placed in the folder by the "v4" install routine), how have you been inputting the various keys?

The key window opens automatically for a key to be completed the first time you run the game after the upgrade. Enter "v4" key.

You then need to quit the game before trying to play it, and open the key input window "manually" by running the shortcut to enter, in turn, each of the keys needed for that title: and for CMFI and the state it's in after the upgrade, that's basically all of the older ones. The keys have to be entered "one on top of the other" and all be entered / present for the game to work. If you open the key window by trying to run the game, then you are only ever getting one key entered, and the game will still say the others are missing, as that latest input will override any earlier entries from that method of input. (I think!) You need to run the .sh to make the process work as intended.

There are details on the BF website of how to create a shortcut if one isn't created for some reason by the install ... sorry, don't have a link to them, but will find it if it helps.

I'm on a Mac: I *think* you can just edit the text in a .sh file that does exist (e.g. all the "v4" titles should now have one in their own folders), and substitute the CMFI game name (in full) where the other game name is in its .sh file. Make sense?

Found BF's "create a shortcut" guidance ...

4. There's always a weird one and here it is. A few Windows users are not getting "Activate New Products" shortcuts created during installation. Apparently anti-virus software is preventing the installer from doing its job. This might not be a problem right now, but it will prove to be an issue at some point in the future. The solution is to create your own shortcut using the following steps:

Disable your anti-virus software before you do anything. Go to your Desktop, right click on the Desktop itself, select NEW->SHORTCUT, use BROWSE to locate the CM EXE that you are trying to fix. The location is then written out. After it type in a single space and then paste this:

-showui

Click NEXT and give your new Shortcut a name (doesn't matter what). Confirm that and you're done. Double click on the new Shortcut and you should be prompted to license whatever it is you need to license.

At this time we have not identified any issues that have not been worked around. Let's hope it stays that way

Yeah @Nort thats what was confusing me. I knew that "activate new products' was in the other titles prior to upgrading to v4, so I looked for it in my CMFI v3, it wasn't there. So I upgraded to v4 and looked again, yep NOW it was there, allowing me to install GL. If that is making any sense to you.
