In another field of battle...Ba'tur ... Son of Csaba... brings his horses to a stop, Kroneblatt, ponders ... whether to invest in roses?

The battle for ITALIA is joined on the Etruscan plains ... our cavalry are stalking each other far out left ... the skirmishers are duking it out in the centre like a flyweight curtain raiser for the main heavyweight bout... and our main battle lines are clashing on the wings. My Umbrian citizen hoplites seem so far tobe getting the better of @HOA_KSOP 's Italian foot in the opening encounters...

That's correct. I'll go with Carthaginian (Hannibal in Italy) 216-203 BC.

@Nelson1812: I've set the game up now, with password: cannae (I guess I'll have to eat that up later on...:oops:)

Enjoy!
@Nelson1812 : the game you just set up with a map re-roll should have Mediterranean Hilly terrain, not Middle-Eastern. Can you please repost game? Thanks.

@Nelson1812 : and the new game you've set up mixes up the army lists, with me being Roman and you Carthaginian. I should be Carthaginian and you Roman. :ROFLMAO:
Can you please repost game (still with Mediterranean Hilly terrain)? Thanks.

Rico wiped me out in my quest to capture Italia. Back to the drawing board. Had fun Rico, even though I got slaughtered.

That was a bizzare one-sided battle -- my citizen hoplite units just cut a swathe through your Italian foot -- ended 42 -2 % in my favour -- hadn't played either of these armies before myself.
As I said, my guys brought short swords to a spear fight...LOL

@Rico And you can damn sure bet I will never play the Italian hill tribes again...LOL

@Rico @Nathangun I got an error when trying to log into the FOG2 multiplayer server that says it does not recognize my credentials and that I need to go to the Slitherine forums at slitherine.com. I am out of town until Monday, so I can't deal with it until I get back. This may extend my battle with Nathangun until I get it resolved.

I had the same issue. I think must have the Siltherine website password must match your game login.

BATTLE 5: CILICIA - Green attack from Asia: @Wellsonian vs @Badger73 -- Sassanid Persians (629 - 651AD) vs Byzantine (600 - 649AD)

@Rico - @Nathangun, Dispatch riders galloped into the capital of Armenia with news from Cilicia.
Heroic WHITE Byzantines defeated scurrilous GREEN Sassanids 54% - 17%. The invaders are repulsed!
Fun game, @Wellsonian, but maybe green pastures lie west of Asia for you instead . . . :sneaky:

I had the same problem.
Had to enter my user name as the server did not "remember" it.
Then had to reenter my PW even though the server did recognize that. WTF?
Now I just have to enter my user name every time I log on.
They've got a problem it appears.
Same here - have to re-enter login details every time. Medieval works ok.

Latest battle results updated.

RED captures PANNONIA.
RED repulsed from ITALIA.
