Set in the DATE world.

It's late summer 2027 and hostilities between The United Republics of Donovia (URD) and NATO have been frozen by ceasefire. However, positions near the hotly contested village of Albytown remain occupied in a dangerous standoff. It is only a matter of time before something bad happens. Albytown is a truly wicked and terrible place.

This Field Warrior Tournament will attempt to utilize CMBS to illustrate very modern warfare with some of the most novel attributes that can be modeled in CMBS. It will utilize SlySniper’s standard rules and will consist of five 30 minutes battles.

Please read the briefings and designer’s notes as they contain valuable information about scoring and forces.

Care was taken to present *balanced* games, retaining the 'Red v Blue' format and without resorting to 'mirror' battles. The forces, weapons and timing are all chosen for fairness and fun. We’ve tried to include a variety different weapons you might not see in an average PBEM while other weapons are avoided altogether. Different objective types and editor tricks were utilized to keep things interesting. Admittedly, these are arcade style matches with highly curated and therefore unrealistic orbats. That is because realism is secondary to the primary objective of creating FUN Tournament PvP games. Also, despite our best efforts, the games are not entirely even, so you may need to visit the test range or read the manual to understand your equipment and maximize your advantages. The battles are on the larger side and on large maps. Some of the weapon systems we are playing with simply require a larger map. I have minimized trees and flavor objects and tried to keep the map size to the minimum required for the scenario. The files have been specifically tested on a weaker machine and so far, they seem to play.

Lastly, the maps are recycled from either stock CMBS content or borrowed from TFGM TSD. I may have made a few minor modifications here and there, but overall, they are only lightly modified if at all. We’ve credited the original creators in the designer’s notes. To those original creators, thank you and please consider our selection of your map to be the greatest compliment we could give! They are all truly awesome maps that reflect the skill and imagination of their original creators.

The campaign contains the following battles:

1. Welcome to Albytown: Meeting engagement: Real Estate Prices are not the only thing going down in Albytown.

2. The Road to Albytown: Blue Attack: War crimes have occured! NATO organizes a mission to find and destroy the offending unit.

3. End Around Albytown: Meeting Engagement: URD and NATO tanks have a *Midnight Rendezvous* on objectives MOTEL and LOVESHACK.

4. Revenge in Albytown: Red Attack: URD airborne forces drop in and pursue retreating NATO units across a scary modern battlefield.

5. Escape from Albytown: Meeting engagement: Somebody tac-nuked Albytown! Button up and evacuate your forces to the safe area immediately!

I changed my name from Balz2deep to BalzBack. It was an old game tag that I grew out of and whereas it initially had no vulgar connotation, I have grown tired of the perception.

Well sorry man I'm not sure BalzBack will not be seen as vulgar. Don't get me wrong I could not care less.
In what time frame did Balz2deep not have a vulgar connotation? I must be missing something or it is a reference from something from the 30s, 40s or 50s before my time :)
BTW I like @MeatEtr's name suggestions - comes with a theme song too :D

It was in reference to a Golf Game. WGT and I always hit my balls on the par 3 into the water beyond the green. I am not saying it did not have another meaning before. I was saying that was not the meaning behind the name initially and as I have aged , I don't find value in maintaining that persona. Balzback keeps the short version of BALZ that everyone has called me for years and references me getting my Balz Back from self-imposed victimization. It also is a term Used in Beer Pong that I am pretty good at.

@Cargol just FYI I have family visiting this weekend. I will likely not get to the setup until Tuesday morning. I'm sure I can steal a moment here and there for on going games but I cannot imaging I can complete a setup over the weekend.

No worries, I will be on the move for Easter vacation also. Will take it from Tuesday and on. We have a fine tradition of finishing our games on time. ;)
