[FILM] True Grit

Saw the Coen re-make and was surprised. They did not deviate far from the original at all; with much of the dialogue nearly identical.
They tweaked the ending a bit, but merely gave the viewers a little more storyline.
Of course, the characters were good, although I think John Wayne still defines Mr. Cogburn.

The scene where Matty Ross negotiates over her father's horses is still very good and notable for who is in it.

A few re-arrangements and different characters. While everyone else gushes over the Matty Ross role, I say Kim Darby was better.

Saw it tonight, and enjoyed it very much.
Different ending than the original True Grit.
I will purchase it when its release in DVD, because I like the movie allot.
Another Coen brothers hit.

I am very much looking forward to seeing this. I loved the original and have heard nothing but good things about this one.

One of my all-time favourite films, so I'll be watching this one on DVD at some point, will save me having to watch the original for the umpteenth time! Hard to see Wayne been upstaged though, but I like the Coen brothers' stuff, so they should not disappoint.

I really want to see this, but truly despise the "movie theater experience". So, not sure if I'll see it until it comes out on DVD. I've heard it's amazing though. Nothing but great reviews. Put the original in my Netflix queue so I can watch it either right before or after the new one.

Same here, i have heard the reviews are good, and Matt Damon (cue team america voice over of "Matt Damon") is usually in some pretty good movies.
