Playing 'For King and Country' co-operatively with my local gaming buddy, Mike. He commands the British infantry and I the British Armour which includes flails and crocodiles. It is Gold Beach. We are making good progress but at some cost..

Twenty minutes in, the armour has breached the sea wall in multiple places and reached the esplanade. It pauses to let the following infantry catch up as the armour is reluctant to close with the buildings. All German pillboxes have been knocked out as have many German schwere Machinegewehr (HMG) positions. A few tanks have been knocked out by A/Tk guns and hand-held A/Tk weapons but more have been immobilized by bits of rough terrain and A/Tk mines. Unfortunately this includes a number of the later arriving funnies. The immobilization of two crocodiles (flame throwing tanks) does not bode well for clearing the buildings.
K04: moving past a knocked out bunker on the right flank
K05: what initially appeared to be a huge explosion in the center, turned out to be three or four smoke clouds when viewed from a different angle
K07-K11: armour moves past the sea wall and knocked out bunker on the left while infantry move up to follow-up.
K12: a follow-up landing is jut beginning to move up from the water's edge
K14: a mortar team is stuck in a minefield and waits for the flail to clear a path out
K15: unhappy flail
K16: What's worse than being stuck in a minefield? Coming under accurate mortar fire while being stuck in a minefield.

We appear to be making good progress. With one hour, 28 minutes left in the scenario, the infantry commander has occupied five of seven of the scenario objectives, or rather what is left of the objectives after the pounding from my armour and his naval fire. A sixth, the bridge is in sight and reach. A flail clears the road to the bridge ahead of the following armor. The church will be our last effort and a bloody fight is anticipated. Our front line has roughly reached the second beach road running parallel to the esplanade. With so much time still on the clock it is possible that a German counter-attack might be expected. Objective captured: On the left flank - 726th Regimental HQ, the Customs House and strongpoint WN36; on the right flank - the Sanatorium and strongpoint WN37. Two concentrations of German mortar batteries located on our left have been wiped out, one with the use of a crocodile tank. Our mine clearing has not been able to get to all locations before the infantry moved up and my armour has been a bit impetuous resulting in a few more lost tracks and unnecessary casualties to hand held A/Tk weapons.

As you can see from the screen grabs, every graphic in the game has been modified (including the GUI which I did not include in grabs). "For King and Country" comes with its own great inherent set of mods that can be switched in and out using JSGME from one scenario to the next. Any graphic that FK&C did not modify, has been replaced with other author's mods incluing a few of my own.
