Ok guys I think I have come to a nice compromise that will keep everyone happy.

The sidebar will only display on the forum first page.

Once you click to enter sections or posts it will disappear.

This will mean it doesnt distract HedgeHog or bounce about when POS changes pages.

If you guys are fine with that we can leave it as is...?

I just minimized it before, but the compromise works fine.

Actually there isnt to much support for it so I will remove it. No worries... thanks for your input guys.

My main worry was that it might have confused surfers and some members. For example people sometimes ask me to help them navigate around, that's why I'm fiercely anti-clutter, to make it easier for them. A small neatly-cultivated plantation is easier on the eye than a big sprawling forest where you can't see the wood for the trees..
