That's my dad. Found it in a (of course) very old Picture Album.
On this picture he was ca 21 years old. Spring 1942
And this picture was described as..."In Wirklichkeit nur noch "Schein-Soldat". Schon fehlt ein Fuß. Aber wer wollte kein zackiger Soldat sein."
This means: "In truth only a masquerade, because on this picture he has already lost his leg. But every man (at this Time) wanted to be a jagged soldier"
maybe it's not translated quite right ...

Fascinating pic I ran into on the web.
Looks like a T-34 mock-up used by the Germans for infantry close-quarter anti-tank-fighting training.
I am not sure what the little tracked vehicle underneath is?
