Ah. The old man members well the joy of youth.
A copy of latest Strategy and Tactics in hand he rushes home to cloister himself
away from 'others' . To feel the fine grain of the magazine under ones fingertips.
TO leaf through the pages sent by god himself to this lowly aficionado of wargaming.

Greetings to all fellow gamers. I have many HPS sims. So pbem is not out of the question.
[Also i am learning the ways of VASSAL.{sounds ominous}]

Pbem "as George W would say" you mis-underestimate me.
I have palyed near all Civ war and Napoleonics by HPS in pbem mode.
Much to chagrin of my opponent i won Gettysburg as rebs.. lol.
The crowning moment of my skills. ;)
Good on attack but better on defense.

All i can promise is a dedicated opponent.
With a great benefit, is that im online 24/7 [retired] and a whizbang PC.

As an aside . The Men of War series is simply superb.
if you like tacical gaming as in squad leader style.
Even with medium pc specs you can run MoW..
keep the best res and scale down quality as most of time your floating above action and quality is secondary.
MoW gives UNPARALLELED control of actions.
You can for example repair a Pz 3 you knocked out earlier and turn it on it's former owners.
dump all those mosin nagant bolt actions and pick up mp40's
An 8 man squad all toting mg 34's. is awesome in combat.

Only now[im slow] do i see how centered this site is on combat mission
I own a fairly recent copy of said game.
And while i liked it.,. i thought , whoever runs the graphics should be shot.. it would be better as a hex based tactical sim.
Like doing an anime version of Casablanca .. it just falls down.

so as i do like cm.. im no big fan. and thus if you never hear from me again. you know why.
apponents for pbem i can get who are not part of fringe site.''More options less trouble.'
This site is nice.. but it needs to be less centered . I mean Cm is cool but its also pretty crappy in many ways.
