Greetings from Oz

Now that's too bad, as I was enjoying this guys sense of humor.
And I still don't know what HPS stands for...

Facman

That was just me being characteristically rude. I have a rare bottled collection of rum that Nelson was shipped home in.
Arrgh 'My back is shot through'
A few snorts and im 'crossing the T' At Trafalger.

It is always a great pleasure to meet one who 'gets' my sense of humour .
How could i leave when i find one.?

Gudie, shouldn't give up on FGM. I don't think you recognize/appreciate our flexibility.
You could create your own area of expertise here and gain a following.
Also, I want you to stay 'cause you're old...Strategy & Tactics...those were the days (I'm retired guy as well) and Ted needs someone to talk to.

Well came appon wargaming in about 74. Latter [75 or 6 S@T my 1st great love was Panzergruppe Guderian ( thus the Nik)
I dont want a following. Just equals that understand my POV.

And in return i accept and never judge. Except when someone says WMD's in iraq... ooooooooooo thats gonna get me in big trouble.

;)

Nah, we can slug it out in the politics dept as well as anyone else. Just remember, this is a gentleman's club, and respect for others while tearing their position apart, will engender a lot of tolerance. My still being here is proof of that.

Well, i certainly fit into all sorts. The hodgepodge of those not in a group of others who all were the same hats.

Sniker

I dont lie. And to reinforce this i honestly dont g.a.f about WMD's.
My interest in this theater is performance of US combat formations in 2003/1991
espescially medina ridge.

Hello Guderian and welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!

Good to have you with us!

Thx, Guderian - that's me in the Ardennes '44. Those were wild days and each could have been your last.... LOL!!

I took it from this Tamiya model kit box:

Aah, I see - didn't know that "Oz" stands for "Australia". I thought you were ironical by saying that you are coming from a fantasy world ("Land of Oz",
the place where you are living - or planet earth in general - seen as some kind of "wonderland").

As a PC expert - are you also dealing with the programming language "Oz" ? ;)

no

LOL!!! :D

Underneath your avatar I read "occupation: pc tech" - this made me think you would do something with programming and stuff.

You see I'm so absolutely very far from being an "expert" that I even didn't know the difference between a programmer and a techie - so it's me
who's thinking slow .... LOL!!! :D

people like you and rat fro movie 'core' write the code.
you guys cant think as slowly as me if you tried

I don't fully understand this remark - but I write nothing - only in the FGM forum sometimes *gg! :)

OK, short compendium: "Oz" is no ironical allusion neither about your mind-set/world outlook nor about your job/main interest/hobby etc. - it is
just a colloquial name/word for "Australia" in the Anglo-Saxon (or original English speaking) world.

And again I've learned something interesting. ;)

Now your avatar: *gg! :D

See you, Gudie! ;)

Yes, it does ... and we've certainly had "all sorts" in our jolly FGM circle. ;)

That sounds awfully like the vienna circle.

"The Vienna Circle (in German: der Wiener Kreis) was an association of philosophers gathered around the University of Vienna in 1922, chaired by Moritz Schlick, also known as the Ernst Mach Society (Verein Ernst Mach) in honour of Ernst Mach. Among its members were Gustav Bergmann, Rudolf Carnap, Philipp Frank, Hans Hahn, Tscha Hung, Victor Kraft, Karl Menger, Richard von Mises, Marcel Natkin, Otto Neurath, Olga Hahn-Neurath, Theodor Radakovic, Rose Rand and Friedrich Waismann.
Herbert Feigl and Kurt Gödel were two eminent students at the University of Vienna at this time. They were allowed to participate in the meetings, but were not members of the Vienna Circle. Members of the Vienna Circle had a common attitude towards philosophy, consisting of an applied logical positivism drawn from Ludwig Wittgenstein, whose Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus formed the basis for the group's philosophy (although Wittgenstein himself insisted that logical positivism was a gross misreading of his thinking, and took to reading poetry during meetings of the Vienna Circle). The Vienna Circle's influence on 20th century philosophy was immense, and much later work, such as that of Willard Van Orman Quine, was in response to the Circle's thought."

to which i reply
Olga Hahn-Neurath and Rose Rand got the best of it.. hehe.
