Hey new members, don't stay a civilian forever!

A guy just asked me this- "oh please promote me out of Civvy please", but I can't do it for them because people have to select what nationality flag they want by pressing these buttons-

1 - Go to Settings in the top menu.
2 - Click on Permission Groups in the left column.
3 - Select the group you wish to join.
4 - Select 'identify me' as a member of this group.
5 - Press the update display groups button.
6 - Also remember to leave the group you do not wish to be part of.
7 - You don't have to stick with one nationality forever if you don't want to. Just switch nations anytime.

I know it's a bit complicated (blame Bootie ha ha), but once you've got your flag, the forum software automatically promotes you every time you reach a certain number of posts.
Ideally, people would be auto-promoted out of Civilian, but that's not the way it works, you have to select your own flag or you'll be a Civvy forever!

The full Ranks thread is tucked away in the FGM FAQ section here-

We, the CIVILIANS, are the infamous 5th column, working behind the scenes to thwart our enemies and support our allies. Some of us have been in Portsmouth turning the street signs the wrong way to confuse you when you stagger home drunk after a night of over indulgence at the Eastern Europe Old Ladies Home and Dance Hall.

That#s exactly what I expect of our civilian department! Good work there, Bravo!

With your 500 posts you'd be a Master Sergeant and it'd look like this-

Hm... Good idea to expand. Need any help? I actually have a couple of custom Italian rank insignia done for officers and generals (did that for CMMC3). You could use them if you want.

I got a very good source in the meantime. If you want to do additional ranks, I can provide you with the artworks in a week or so.

And here is a list with Dutch ranks of WW2. If you need/want a translation, let me know. I found it here: http://www.grebbeberg.nl/index.php?page=organisatie, which is the forum of http://www.waroverholland.nl/.
Both very interesting sites BTW.
