Hi everyone. After a year or three of not playing combat mission, I started playing the singleplayer campaigns again (CMBN/ MG) a few weeks ago. Fun as the singleplayer missions may be, I remember from a few years ago that the multiplayer is where the real fun/challenge is. So here I am, ready to get back into multi.

Three years ago I retired as a forward observer in the Dutch army. Expect some realistic use of artillery in a game, in essence using artillery to force the enemy to make mistakes (a rather broad statement but I'd love to discuss this view and anything else with the buffs and enthusiasts on this site ;-).

@RagingBunny

Welcome to the club. It is always nice to have a gun bunny (American army slang for artillery folks) as a partner. I am/was an American infantry officer. Americans also call the artillery the "King" of battle.

Enjoy the wargame competition here. You will not find it too hard to find an opponent.

Hello Bunny,

welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!
Good to have you with us! :)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H)
- as you already said. ;)

For to get involved into the PBEM H2H gaming action, please go to the gaming section and choose the category with
the game that you'd like to play (CMBS or CMBN etc.). There you'll find the postings for gaming requests
(just scroll down a little). And there you may also start your own, of course. ;)

Dutch Grenadier, it's a small world... I was the forward observer of 11 tankbat's :)panzer:) recon platoon in 2012. I became a civie again when the tank batallions were disbanded. Did some FO work for 17 infbat as well.

Thanks for the nice words of welcome guys.

@fabishd: Funny, we call the infantry the queen of the battlefield (no joke). Also: I didn't know artillerymen were called bunnies. My username is lucky shot then!

I was in the 11th recon platoon between '05 and '07. Left the army after Afghanistan in '07. Joined the policeforce :)
I joinded the army in '98.

@RagingBunny

Yes in the American army the infantry is also known as the "Queen" of battle.

I know from training as a mortar platoon leader and later on with attached FOs when I was an infantry platoon leader, you always need a good FO to get the job done easier as an infantryman.

@RagingBunny Welcome to the Fgm I look forward to reading your posts on spotting and artillery in Combat Mission, Battlefront have some ideas about it that I am sure you can improve on...

Good luck for the games and the craic...
