John Tiller's Campaign Series

I play JTS Panzer Campaigns at The Blitz and The Wargaming Society. TWS conduct regular PzC tournaments if you are interested.

btw JTS Sale starts 15 June 21

I haven't played the Campaign series for years and I had all the Talonsoft games at one time.
I don't even know if I have the discs anymore

Be careful, Nort is a CS Jedi Master....but I am the Jar Jar Binks of CS, so I wasn't much competition...
It takes a lot of courage to admit being the Jar Jar Binks of anything. The shame ;)
I play CS on and off but always get annoyed by the UI and massive stacks. Waiting for the upgrade for France 40 that I got in the last sale - then I might get back into it.

Does anyone here, besides Outlaw Josey Wales and me, play Campaign Series (WF, EF2 or RS)?
I definetely intend to get one for Christmas. I just recently discovered JTS treasure throve.
So I´m thinking of either getting WW1 Serbia or one of the campaign golds.
Any recommendations?

It sounds like you might not be referring to Campaign Series. I know of no "WW1 Serbia" in connection with Campaign Series.
WW1 campaign

Anyways. My next game purchase will be a JTS without a doubt.

Hmmm I think I know now what you are refering to, but I cant seem to find it on the website I´m at.

I still have the boxed originals West Front/Rising Sun with the nice manuals. Also have the matrix version as well as the Arab-Israeili version. This would be a good candidate for a facelift, just like was done for Age of Kings. Updated interface and upgrade to 4k would be great. The ultimate would be a combined Command Ops2 system using the same sort of graphics as Campaign Series to add more flavor.

I once started a h2h game and opponent dissapeared after a few turns, never tried it since.

I looked at the CS ver 2 Viet-Nam screenshots. I'm underwhelmed by the graphics. Its 2021/22. From the screenshots it looks about the same as it was back in the 1990's. Graphical representation counts. Even $4.99 games on Steam you can get on sale for .99 has modern graphical representation.

Decisive Campaigns Ardennes nailed it when it came to representing old counters in a more modern appealing manner.

I went and took a look at DCA. Does the game have the ability to render the units in 3D like CS, or are you limited to just the 2D tiles?

No, I don't think VR Designs does 3-D sprites, but the unit counters in DC:A are pretty self-explanatory because when you click on them they show the unit composition below the map window. I have DC:Barbarossa and it does not have sprites. Now Unity of Command 2 does.
