My favorite version:
Just a bit of ancient history -- the first original version of the song "Mbube" (meaning Lion in Zulu) written by Solomon Linda and recorded in 1939, which crossed the world and was then evolved into "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" we know today (partly by mishearing the original Zulu lyrics) ... not surprisingly, the original creator of the melody and song never saw a cent in royalties from the millions the song made over the decades.
