Nope! Everyone's looks like that. Not sure why they cannot get better graphics on explosions. It has been like that since Version one. It is a limitation of the current engine we are stuck with.

There's a cool mod that polishes it up, I don't have a link as I'm on my phone but will post one later. You'll might have to remind me as I might forget.

I agree. Decent overall graphics and then this. Sorry thing is that the Combat Mission: Touch game for ipad, iphone, and such has better explosion graphics than the game itself. See this video around time 14:15
