Nee dsome help with graphic card issue

when I'm playing Heroes and Generals my laptop (3 years old) crashes when playing the larger maps. My laptop says my drivers need to be updated. I hve no freeking idea how to do this. Can this problem also be solved when I attach a normal pc monitor to my laptop? (Yes I'm a total n00b when it comes to technical stuff)

if you provide the Windows version I can tell how this can be done using the "device manager" in the control panel in a just few clicks.
