There is some news article going round the the South Koreans are asking the USA for tactical nukes to be stationed in SK. Don't know if thats true. but it looks like it was about to cook off.
 
I was stationed in Korea from 1996-97 and I don't think this will amount to anything. I am sure that this was just some over exuberant North Korean local commander that took it a bit too far. The South Korean's have no will to fight the North Koreans. They are the most spineless country in Asia. It will all blow over.

My brother and his family live in Seoul (He is an American business executive), and from what i gather its just another NK flexing its muscle, looking for attention.
 
And why would China allow some little country like Nk to make rtrouble in its backyard?
 
Its like the 3 year old that keeps pushing the limits of the parents...attention (either positive or negative) is desirable....NK wants to feel like a player on the world stage.
 
Some say that all this is related to the change of leadership in NK.
IMO next week things are going to get clear as there is another exercise planned there (0f the SK armed forces)with the participation of US warships.
