I learned to drive in a 1984 Mazda 323 when I was 21..... I only had 4 lessons having never sat in the drivers seat of a car beforehand.... passed first time.
I put this down to two things....... firstly I'd already been riding motorbikes for four years so my road sense was very good.....plus...it was August 1984 in England.... on a Wednesday afternoon.....so all the shops were shut and the roads were quiet ( took my test in Farnborough, Hants) as it was during the school holidays.
I also passed my bike test first time although I didn't take that until 1996, and hadn't ridden a bike between 1984 when I got my car license and 1996.
I seem to do okay driving/riding, and even towing a caravan......the first time I did this was the 85 mile drive home from the dealers in Salisbury to West Oxfordshire where I live. So far no issues at all towing, although I have broken a few things on the caravan due to my epic lack of practical skills matched by my heavy handedness!!!
