I am kohlenklau. Turning the big 5-0 this next month. Located in Austin, Texas, USA.
My story seems a copy of many of the rest of you.
Building scale models in the 70's. Board games too. Finally the computer games. yada yada yada.
Retired military officer. Recently divorced, live with my 2 sons (19 and 15). I have a brand new job as a sales engineer for conveyor systems. Maybe Santa will bring me a smoking hot computer this year? Or more likely I get one of my son's old ones!

I enjoy the CM series. I have a few scenarios and mods I have done.
Hey! The FGM scenario download page looks like it hardly has any scenarios.
Am I allowed to post the link to my stuff? It would direct you to the GaJ site and BFC repository.
Maybe you all use those sites instead anyway?

I want to play some short/small h2h PBEM battles. The longer battles which seem to take me months to finish at 1 turn a day back and forth just make me miss those old days with a LAN party and you brought your PC in the car and hooked them all up to play in a room somewhere.

This time of year with the cooler weather I get a big hankering for some snow battles. I can't wait for CM Bulge! But in the meantime I use CMFI GL as a stand-in. I was part of a team with a great guy named "mjkerner" that did a mod to make it like Bulge 44. We did some file renaming which gave US airborne greatcoats and put Waffen-SS camo on heer troops. And gave everybody gloves. I changed Italy road signs to Belgium towns and even put snow camo on a US half-track named "daisy".

I guess that lets you know about me.

One last thing: Anybody got a good looking sister? :)

Hello Kohlenklau, welcome to THE FEW GOOD MEN!
Good to have you with us! :)

Good introduction!

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H). ;)
But in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

Enjoy the club and become a part of our community - there are many reliable gaming partners here, plenty of stuff to
check out and good people to meet. :)

hi kohlenklau, welcome to club.
I'm turning 50 at the end of this month too, ah yes the same old story (but my wife is still in there ).
Enjoy in this community of good guys (men ? we aren't men, we're still playing videogames ...)

Buon Giorno Massimo!
I see you are from Sardinia? I went there many times to Olbia by Alitalia from Napoli and then Euorcar to La Maddalena to work on US Navy ships.
My younger son was born in Agnano in 2000. I lived there in Italy 2 times for a total of about 5 years. What a great place. Viva Italia!

Yes I'm from Cagliari (south), this shot may sounds familiar to you.
Maybe you don't know that the US military base is closed since 2010, some locations are still used by Nato for the "hunter killer" maintenance.

A presto

Great photo! One summer I took my family to Sardinia by ferry from Civitavecchia. We stayed in La Mad and did a lot of swimming. The water is so gorgeous.
I did not know the base had closed. I was a diver and we did many dives to pull our junk off the sea floor alongside where the sub tender was moored. Lots of junk!
I hope we cleaned it up properly before we turned it back over. :)

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome from all of you!

Hi kk, welcome aboard. It's about time!:) I see you wasted no time in hooking up with nathangun's Bulge Campaign. You might also want to sign up as a replacement in the Overlord Campaign. I finally get to command Fallschirmjaegers!

Got your email, I'll try giving you a call tomorrow. It's easier to catch up that way. I hate to type/key.
