Pretty good video from Testors on Pre-shading aircraft panel lines.

Nice find, the airbrush will be the next thing I buy for modelling after I finish the group build, it gives you a lot of options.

Bit of a pain to clean, although I've found you can give them a lot more cursory treatment than some people recommend. In a year I've only needed to give it a good soak in lacquer thinner (take out the rubber sealing ring first) once...the rest of the time I blow through some window cleaner then swab with a cotton bud dipped in thinner....wash out the paint cup and job done

PS I recommend a double action airbrush with a cup on the TOP, not a suction cup on the bottom like what I have which is a bit of a pain...takes more pressure to draw up the paint and is annoying to clean.

I went years without an airbrush as I was put off by the thought that it would be too hard to master. I finally bought an inexpensive Badger about 20 years ago and asked myself why I had gone so long without one. Now I can't imagine modelling without one. About a year ago I found this Aztec Double Action airbrush with all the accessories seen in the photo (Including the hadsome wooden box) on ebay for about $100. I love this airbrush and the wide variety of nozzles come in handy for most any project.

That's a nice looking set ACS, I've seen what appear to be great double-action deals on Amazon with a compressor. I'm looking forward to the different effects it will give me. I'll probably buy a couple of cheap plane kits to hone my skills at first.

Looks good AB, how did it turn out after you added the next coat?

I dont have a shot with just the green, here is after the masking fo the splinter pattern:

I need to get back into 25mm, but mostly/15mm metal miniatures painting again for wargaming.
I was very good at it...won a draw full of awards...until someone stolen most of my collection.
That took the wind right out of my sails. Stopped painting for 5 years now.
I'm bought a Osprey Books on Airbrushing, but it looks like voodoo witchdoctor technology to me.
But now I know they some exper advise online from my trusted friends on FGM...
I will get back into too this spring.
Thanks all...neat thread...look forward to reading more of your hot tips on "How To"
:")
