ROUND #1 match ups

@KGPanther & @SlySniper my puny laptop keeps crashing loading my turn.
Is it a big map? does it have lots of threes? or a city map?
Otherwise I will have to concede the battle.

I am not sure what you are doing, first, I only see turn 002 in the file, that one is for KG.

So if that is what you are trying to open, it will not work for you.

If there is a 003 , then we have a issue

I am getting out of memory errors. Might be my AMD drivers, I'll try reverting to an older version. If that doesn't work, I guess I'm out.

Reverting to a version of the drivers that I know were working didn't change a thing. Guess I'm out.

well hold on, lets see how many issues show up with players.

If we get too many. I will stop the round. fix the size of the battle to be smaller and redo the start up.

I really did not think this was going to be taxing on machines.

I think the size of this battle is going to test a lot of guys' rigs when all the moving and firing starts, including mine.
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that this tournament was going to have much smaller battles than the last one, or am I imagining it?

He said that there was one with a lot of tanks, and I think that is the first one, let's see if it causes more issues or not, I hope, and I think, that everything will be ok

thx for the tip, I'll try it on my next turn

I want to do another Tournament where the battles are really small, mentioned it but it was not for this tournament.

This battle is for sure larger than what I would generally do for any of my tournament, I just went down a path of developing a battle that I thought would highlight tank warfare on the front and somewhat lost the fact that it might be a little much as to size. I assume it might be the map more than the units, since we have had battles with this many units.

I am still determined to see how many more players cannot run the battle before calling a possible halt to it.
At the moment we have 2 players out of 8 battles. I still have 4 battles that have not started, so have no clue on those. as to additional issues.

if its just one or two more, we will continue, I will need to adjust the match ups for the round. for those that are having issues, I still might make a modified version for them.

How much system memory do you have? 16GB is the norm nowadays and is plenty enough. Try closing down background programs running. For example, Dropbox is a memory hog. You can always restart it when your done with the turn to send it.

What has helped me is I zoom in to a close up on a unit before I end the turn. Then, when I start the next turn, it loads fairly quickly. When I zoom out to view the whole map before I end the turn, when the next turn starts, it takes forever to load.
I think an even better way is to position the camera at a corner or edge of the map viewing nothing, then hit go. So theres literally nothing the game has to render at the start of the next turn. Of course it still has to load everything units/terrain.

This could help players getting CTD/out of memory problems. @SlySniper could try redoing the start turns with the camera cornered. It's a bit of a long shot but you never know.
