Edelweiss Leader (the StuG IIIG HQ), after surviving the opening shot from the lead T-34/85, replies with two AP rounds on target, destroying the Russian tank. Fortunately for the tank-riders on board, they had elected to dismount seconds before the StuG's first round struck their tank. As the crew bailed out, a couple of HE rounds from Edelweiss Leader were also sent in the direction of the infantry, who had sought cover in the woods behind the burning T-34/85.
