Part of the 'Soundtrack to my Tour of Duty', though I am unable to reproduce it here, came from the 'Bullshit Net'. This was a little known, undercover network on the top 5 or so bands of our military radios (mine was a PRC-25), where we would go to shoot the shit with anyone within range and listen to music played by other radio operators (usually from cassettes). This was accomplished by holding the mic next to the cassette player and keying the mic for the entire song. My contributions to this 'Net' were from the 2 cassettes I carried for my entire ToD. The Grateful Dead's first album & Quicksilver Messenger Service's 2nd album.
