Vets favorite QB troop build.

@Corsaire31 You're absolutely right. I meant I like to go back and forth between the game map and the Paint picture, marking all those things so they don't slip your mind.

EDIT: BTW if anyone finds the excel charts like you're talking about, or wants to make some, I'd love to have a copy

Excellent idea, no wonder your top dog on the ladder

@Nathangun Playing more games than anyone else doesn't make me the best LOL. Which reminds me... @Bootie and @Ithikial I think there should be a medal for highest win/loss ratio, so people like me who have more time to play don't steal the show from the more experienced players. Maybe with a minimum number of games played so only more active members have a shot at it.

Ok. Rather than specific units how about type %. Example would be 5tanks for attack. 2 inf company 2 at guns for def.
etc...

@ThinkingApe I'm assuming no one has a specific answer to that. There is no answer to that type of question. Two different players with completely different unit selections could do very well in the same situation, with different tactics. Every selection has strengths and weaknesses, there's no cookie cutter solution for every situation. It seems like your looking for an OP build, so to speak. No one really knows how you play so you'll have to figure out for yourself what units work best for you.

I agree it just doesn't exist. It depends from the situation, the map, the objectives (type and location), what you expect to find on the other side, what you think the other guy will do ( which more than often proves to be wrong... ). Besides this, two different players will probably have two different favourite combos.

No I am looking for a vanilla build as a blue print to build off of. My first few fights I definitely did not bring enough armor. So I'm learning was just looking for some ideas

Next time you play a QB use one of these rulesets.

IF BIG CATS (PANTHERS/TIGERS) ARE NOT ALLOWED

RULESET 1-

Rarity-Strict
Difficulty-Iron

Armor must not be greater than 33% of the point value of your force. No Big Cats for Axis or 76mm/17lber tanks for Allies. Assault guns/howitzers with larger guns are allowed because they have a limited amount of HEAT rounds for anti-armor.

Up to 105mm arty and mortars are allowed. Preplanned arty is only allowed for attackers in Attack/Defend scenarios. None in Meeting Engagements.

All units set to Typical in all categories (Experience/Motivation/Fitness/Leadership).

IF BIG CATS (PANTHERS/TIGERS) ARE ALLOWED-

RULESET 2A- Battle size is Large or smaller.

Rarity-Standard
Difficulty-Iron

Armor must not be greater than 33% of the point value of your force. No restrictions on vehicle selections.

Arty up to 155mm. Preplanned arty is only allowed for attackers in Attack/Defend scenarios. None in Meeting Engagements.

All units set to Typical in all categories (Experience/Motivation/Fitness/Leadership).

RULESET 2B- Battle size is Huge or bigger.

Rarity-Standard
Difficulty-Iron

Armor must not be greater than 33% of the point value of your force. Every third armor choice can be a Big Cat, so you have to pick two normal tanks/assault guns before you can buy a Big Cat, then two more, and so on. Allies can select any armor. Vehicles from the Mechanized Forces single vehicle screen do not count toward armor.

Arty up to 155mm. Preplanned arty is only allowed for attackers in Attack/Defend scenarios. None in Meeting Engagements.

All units set to Typical in all categories (Experience/Motivation/Fitness/Leadership).

Having rules in place like that will make the question of what to pick easier. Keep in mind that most of the time you'll need a balanced force of infantry, armor, and indirect fire like mortars or artillery. All that's left is to fill in the gaps with what you think the map calls for.

And that's about as direct an answer as you're going to get to your question lol. Good luck. Let me know if you want to play a game.

Ok Ty this. 10000 point Germans are attacking a Forrest town map.
What would be your first formation. Infintry? Tank? How much arty and type?

What tanks and support would you bring? I have grown very fond of Ostwind for tank support inf and at guns.

Bring some Panzer IVs or Stugs to support the infantry assault. Tigers can be overwatch.

:panzer::2charge:

I am getting the attack build down. Your hints helped immensely. However my Defense Is horrible. I tend to get too many At guns instead of armor. Any hints here.
Other ? Pre registered arty. I see the points in the map do I just select them as the point of attack for the arty using the spotters? Or something different? Thank you for any help.
