The amazing Tina.......................................... TURNER - I saw here in the 80's in a small theatre - amazing live, had so much energy and sooooo sexy. (We'll draw a veil over the rest of the concert.)
'twas in the darkest depths of Mordor
I met a girl so fair
But Gollum, and the evil one
Crept up and slipped away with her
Her, her, yeah
Ain't nothing I can do, no
A bit of folk music now, from 1972........she looks like someone from centuries past - her voice is great, and the accompanying musicians are talented too.
I had a mate at school who was always listening to this stuff while I was just starting to listen to Pink Floyd and the like......I scoffed at it, calling it medieval rubbish......oh the ignorance of youth......
This is an interesting song............the lyrics relate to the Russian struggle against the Nazi war machine in WW2...........here he is accompanied by Roger Taylor of Queen playing the tambourine and backing vocal.........may take more than one listen but that will just make you appreciate it more.......
