[WHAT IF #3] WHAT IF THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS HAD ESCALATED INTO NUCLEAR WAR?

I taught fighting and maintenance in a nuclear, biological and chemical environment for a number of years. It's a heavy environment but, not as lethal as everyone thinks. The main thing is to dot your Is and cross your Ts, move underground and stay out of the main epicenters. We're courting nuclear war right now, but I don't see anyone getting too excited about it. So I'm guessing we have learned not to fear it so much, either that, or we've become more prepared to die for our political ideology. Pulling the Tiger's tail is never a good idea, but if you look at the number of people killed by tigers in the last few years, you have to assume everyone isn't getting the message.

You are correct. And with hypersonic delivery systems there will be virtually no warning....all you'll see is the bright flash...
