my windows 7 under parallels desktop on my mac just collapsed - I managed to reinstall this sh..... but now I cant play CMBB and CMAK - (I have last patch, drivers etc but still playing CM is almost impossible - (very very slow graphic with artefacts when I try to rotate camera)

Maybe somebody knows how to tackle this problem ??

Afraid not. Have you tried running in the program in compatability mode?
[right click mouse, properties,compatability]

By the way I never got it to work on my W7 64 bits laptop, anyone has a clue?
On my XP pro at home, I have to Alt Tab to desktop and back to have the text appear (found that on the Battlefront forum) due to evolution of graphic card drivers...

I have a Acer Aspire 8735G laptop with win7 Home premium running.
CMAK, CMBB, ARMA2 all run fine with no hassles.
Maybe a graphics driver thing?
Did you put the vista patch for CM on it? (cant remember if i did though....)

Never had Vista, so didn't know there was a special patch... where do you find it ? Battlefront?

I did apply vista patch.... no effect
I tried compatibility mode... no effect
I have win7Pr 64 bit on IMAC - I think it could be problem with drivers for nvidia - but no clue how to fix it
drivers from nvidia.com won't install - and I have to use drivers from macos dvd
Most interesting is that it was working before win-crash :(

Does everything else work? Sounds like your graphics card got a serious problem... Either that or you didn't reinstall your Windows properly. Repair Install or complete wipe?

everything else works fine ( I have downloaded Mafia II demo to check graphics and it is working fine (under boot camp I start windows only machine)
I think that something is wrong with drivers for Mac nvidia (it is not typical nvidia card :(

Reinstalling does nothing
I can't afford to completely wipe out my IMAC - it would be a lot of work and a lot of time and I have a lot of professional stuff on my mac

Then that seems to be the problem - I guess some parts of the old driver are still in place and get recognized by the sytem (or are "locked") and that's why you can't reinstall them. In this case usually only a complete wipe helps, but if that isn't possible... Hm. Tricky.

Guess what ? I decided to give it a re-try, and this time it works... Just the usual ATI problem of yellow text on white, solved by the Radeon text fix from Battlefront. Man, am transfering my scenarios and mods and will be ready to go... Long time I didn't play in 1024*768, my old eyes won't like it...LOL

Thanks Earl and Anti3g - I will try it on weekend - you could be right !
