Budapest - Margit Island:
@Cargol @Spoogles

Historical:
Margit (Margaret) Island was part of the final defense of Pest, and remained linked to the Western bank of the Danube via the remaining half of the Margaret Bridge. The Germans used it as an aerial supply landing field, and to recover supplies floated down the Danube from upriver. The Soviets crossed the frozen river ice at night and launched a dawn attack that split the island in two. For much of January, the Germans and Soviets fought within earshot of each other from trench positions until the German defenders ran short of supplies and the island was abandoned.

Campaign:
The Soviet 151st Rifle Division failed to capture Margit Island during the first week in January in an over-ice assault, but was able to occupy the southern half of the island. This included the Margit Bridge, which was immediately blown by the Germans in Buda. However, the 151st was rendered combat ineffective and has been pulled from the line. During this period, the Germans were able to re-occupy some of the central terrain and a small section of no-man’s land separates the two sides. The German retain control of the northern half of the island, and the Soviet 63rd Guards Rifle Division is tasked with finishing the job of destroying the SS Polizei Rgt 6 and capturing the island.

Pilis Mountains - Tokod:
@Brille @Gorst

Historical:
After conducting a crossing from the north to the south bank of the Danube on January 1, 1945 which outflanked Soviet defenders along the river bank, the 96th Infantry Division moved east towards Gran (Esztergom). During the night of 2/3 January, the division attacked the Soviet defense erected around the Sugar Factory north of Tokod. The factory and the rail yard was captured by 10am at the cost of 5 StuGs hit by anti-tank fire from the heights to the south. After this success, the Soviets fell back along the south bank of the Danube.

Campaign:
Led by the Brummbaers of Sturmpanzer Abteilung 219, the Germans successfully assaulted the Sugar Factory north of town and captured it, forcing the Soviets to retreat a few miles to the east into residential areas and to the high ground in the southeast. Undeterred by the initial defeat, the Soviets have decided to counterattack the new positions of the 711th Infantry Division to recapture this key terrain on the road to Dorog and Gran, and seize the initiative.

Gerecse Mountains - Tolna:
@Drifter Man @Aurelius

Historical:
The German advance in the Gerecse Mountains was similar to the Battle of the Bulge - panzer formations trying to navigate treacherous, narrow, snow- and ice-covered mountain roads with forests closing in on all sides. Bypassed Soviet units would retreat and hide in the hills, then return for hit-and-run raids on supply lines. The below-standard quantity of German infantry would be the largest problem facing all of the Konrad offensives, as there were never enough troops to secure rear areas while also pushing forward.
Tolna was surrounded and bypassed by the 5th SS Panzer Division during Operation Konrad I on the morning of January 3, 1945, en route to Tarjan. It took two days for follow-on infantry to clear Tolna and make the road network safe for follow-on forces. The Wiking Division spent the day working down the road to Tarjan, where the terrain opened up.

Campaign:
The panzer regiment from the 6th Panzer Division made a daring strike through the forest from Tolna towards Tarjan, but this was savaged by a Soviet Pakfront in the absence of supporting infantry. Having failed to breakthrough along this most direct road of advance, the remaining combat power of the 6th Panzer has taken a circuitous route in an attempt to bypass the Pakfront and enter Tarjan from the west. 6th Panzer must capture key staging areas for a future attack on Tarjan.

Vertes Mountains - Zamoly:
@dkchapuis @jackal

Historical:
After weeks of fighting around Felsogalla, the Germans had been unable to break through the Vertes Mountains along the best route of advance, leading to the various Operation Konrad plans to find an alternate route. Zamoly - north of Stuhlweissenburg - was the site of a diversionary attack by some 100 tanks and AFvs of the 3rd Panzer Division and the I.Kav.Korps on January 7, 1945. This diversion was launched in support of Operation Konrad II in the Pilis Mountains. Although technically a diversion, Hg Sud hoped that the attack might allow the I.Kav.Korps to join up with the IV SS. Pz Korps in Bicske and therefore open up the route toward Budapest.
3rd Panzer had enveloped Zamoly by the end of the day against the 20th Guards Rifle Corps, and reached the road to Csakvar. Over the next 12 hours, 3rd Panzer was counterattacked by multiple tank and mech brigades of the 7th Mech Corps. On Jan 7, the German claimed 30 Soviet tanks and 45 anti-tank guns destroyed; the Soviets claimed 40 German AFVs. Further advance from Zamoly was blocked by a Pak Front and this sector went stagnant until Operation Konrad III where 23rd Panzer Division was able to finally advance to Csakvar.

Campaign:
The 23rd Panzer Division almost achieved a breakthrough amongst the forested areas north of Zamoly, but the Soviets were able to delay them and then disengage to reform another defensive line just to the east. The Germans are attempting to breach this defensive line with a strike up and along the road to Csakvar, passing through additional forested land. Forces of the 5SS "Wiking" Panzer Division have been reported in the area, and may join the attack.

Velence - Osi:
@Guardsman @Bleskaceq

Historical:
The area northwest of Osi had been the site of multiple weak, failed German counterattacks in December 1944. For Operation Konrad I, the 1st Panzer Division staged a diversionary attack on Osi on January 1, 1945. The Soviets expected a major counterattack in Hungary in early January, and believed that Osi was the focal point for German operations aimed at Stuhlweissenburg / Szekesfehervar and on to Budapest. As a result, Osi was fortified and there were significant reserves behind it. The Germans captured the town on January 1, but pulled back after a major counterattack. The diversion was successful in pinning Soviet units that could otherwise have deployed north against Konrad I in the Gerecse Mountains.
On January 18, the 1st Panzer Division again assaulted Osi and captured it after breaching significant fortifications and minefields. From there, the 1st Panzer was able to push on the Lake Velence.

Campaign:
Like the historical battle, the Germans - led by the 3rd SS Panzer Division "Totenkopf" - have initially been stopped in Osi, although some gains were made by capturing the train station and a large estate with good views into the town. The Germans need to secure the main exits from Osi toward Stuhlweissenburg and key intersections in the town so that supplies can flow through unmolested, when the advance continues.

Puszta - Balatonfokajar:
@Car88 @Monty's Mighty Moustache

Historical:
IV. SS-Pz.Korps launched its attack between Lake Balaton on January 18, 1945 as part of Operation Konrad III, with the optimistic goals of reaching the Danube, encircling the Soviet 4th Guards Army deployed west of Budapest, and relieving Budapest itself. The 3rd Panzer Division met light resistance and was able to drive south south-west to the Sarviz Canal on the main axis of attack and the Sio Canal on the operation’s right flank. The 5th SS Panzer Division ran into resistance from the 1st Guards Fortified Region troops in Balatonfokajar, and spent the day clearing out the infantry and machine gun nests from the town before being able to advance to the Malom Canal en route to the Sarviz.

Campaign:
The Germans ran into a brick wall at Balatonfokajar in the first week of Operation Konrad. A PaKfront in the town decimated the initial panzer advance near the cemetery, destroying most of the division’s tanks. After a 48-hour regroup, an armored infantry force will again attempt to seize key objectives in and on the outskirts of town, to open the roads toward the Sarviz Canal so the offensive can continue.

Do you have any mods active?
This problem sometimes occur if you have mods on your CM game, while updating.
It is recommended to put them out for that process.

After that they can be put back in.

I don't know however if you have to reinstall the game now though.
