ARMA III [Online Co-Op] Roll Call

We don't know. I simply uninstalled and re-installed and it seemed to work well enough, but for that little lack of instruction on how to deploy my parachute...

OK all, I'm committed to this Sunday. Any guests coming to my house and I'm going to go and hide in a wardrobe so I can log on....

I'd like to jump straight in and host my 1st mission. It's 1 episode of 4 I'm putting together. The 2nd is all but finished, I'm just putting the finishing touch to it.

It's a 10 man co-op, custom load-outs, revive script and re-spawn with the custom load-out. I'm trying to put a story through the 4 missions. For those of us that don't read the mission brief at the start of a mission (all of us) I've posted the details below.

I hope we can get enough people together.

Mission brief

Situation
A week ago CSAT forces occupied Altis following a formal invite from AAF leadership. With the arrival of the Canton-Protocol troops it is alleged that NATO engaged both CSAT and AAF. Heavy fire fights broke out across the islands, with ill prepared NATO forces taking heavy losses. AAF involvement has been mixed, ranging from observing, to direct hostile action against NATO ground forces. There have been no reports of AAF hostilities against CSAT.

Standing engagement orders; assume all AAF are neutral, only engage under direct AAF hostile action. You are free to engage CSAT on the ground or in the air.

NATO forces in the region have been hit hard. Most BLUFOR bases have been evacuated, some small teams may still be on the islands. Resource is limited so do not expect reinforcements.

A retaliatory expeditionary force is being assembled using available forces but progress is slow and hampered by UN command decisions. No large scale direct-force response to AAF and CSAT aggression is possible. Local residents have taken up arms but are poorly equipped and trained (FIA). Independent regional forces are expected to respond to the occupation, but to what degree is unknown at this time.

Major B. Cooper is operating as local command for NATO forces in the region. He has pulled together a team of 10 US and UK soldiers that happened to be ‘off island’ at the time of the occupation. They are a mixed group of regular and rookie soldiers, but the best that can be assembled at this time.

Mission
US Military Intelligence have identified that General Hassan Nasrallah is to meet an undetermined male at Oreokastro in the North West of Altis. The CSAT General is believed to be in command of air forces for the region. The purpose of his meeting is unknown however NATO command, Major Cooper, is reluctant to miss an opportunity to hit back at CSAT forces. Major Cooper has approved a termination order.

Execution
The team is to helo to Altis, then transit on foot to Castle Thronos. Once the location is clear, setup an over-watch position prior to the General’s arrival at Oreokastro. The local village is approximately 500m south of Thronos. COMMAND will use satellite surveillance to watch the routes into Oreokastro and advise when the HVT is incoming. The strike team will identify General Hassan Nasrallah and then terminate. A mortar strike will be available (designation Alpha), call in via radio 0-8-1. One volley will be available. Alternatively there is a marksman in the team. The method of termination will be at your discretion. CSAT response is anticipated to be heavy and immediate, with additional response forces expected to be brought in to engage any assault force. DO NOT engage the General’s protection forces. Upon successful termination an immediate evacuation of Castle Thronos will be necessary. Don’t throw the assault team’s lives away needlessly. Good luck.

You might want to send the mission to Bootie. If I remember correctly your internet has been hit or miss so hosting could be problematic.
Looks good and I'm excited to play it.

I will also get my feet wet tomorrow and join this mission. Guess I am one of the Rookie soldiers mentioned in the briefing. I will be my first multiplayer engagement and of course I will try my best.
@Bootie: What is the normal time you guys meet? The server can be found via the friends list in steam, right?

I will try and make it as well, even though for some reason last few times I have tried the FGM server coudl not be made visible on my server browser for me even to join.

Thanks! See you tomorrow.

And Strachwitz, what is going on with our PBEM? I have been waiting on your file since 17 Oct 2013, have sent you PMs and email...not a reply from you. I can see it's not because you have been away or anything like that.

Count me in if the mission allows for the odd Australian soldier to be in the region and operating as part of NATO. :) Happy to be 'babysit' any of the Rookies if they request it.

Only if you release part 6 of the 12,000 point battle. I feel like a junkie watching that battle.

I should be good to host. I'm on a fibre optic Internet connection and haven't dropped out of any of the other Arma sessions I've joined. I'll give it a try, in the meantime I'll upload into Dropbox and send Bootie the details in case there is an issue.

I'll setup the server name as The FGM, password panther. If you can't see the server check that the filter for not including password protected servers isn't checked. I've been caught out by that before.

Setup time, as per Bootie, 13:00'ish GMT. See you all there, 07
