Lobsters of Doom!!!! Strike that. Crabs of Doom!
Combat Mission Battle for Normandy - News

cmnormandyvp-logo-500.jpg

The Sherman Crab anti-mine tank is just one of a number of unusual and exciting vehicles included in the Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy Vehicle Pack (for PC and Mac OSX)! How about the Churchill VII Crocodile or the French Char B-2(f) flamethrower tanks? Or the Churchill AVRE with a massive 290mm "Petard" mortar! The CM:BN Vehicle Pack includes over two dozen oddball vehicles that were too fun to leave out of the game.

Downloading now.

"It includes a number of bug fixes and other improvements to the engine that will also be part of future free patches."
On the website there is no information! There they are in the download package in some text file?

Can anybody confirm it is both MAC and PC - I am just looking at the page and all the logos are PC?

OK, finished, actually straightforward with the instructions, but you will have to enter up to 4 different activation codes, depending on the number of modules one bought.

This is how the main screen will look like:

Note the new Vehicle Pack symbol, the version number now at v3.10 (no more confusion about this, thankfully) and also the general "Game Engine" version "3".

And here are some of the new German and Allied vehicles in a quick test in the Scenario Editor to see if it installed ok:

I can't say anything about the patch which is supposedly included. The accompanying README does not contain any information about this .. maybe an oversight.

Someone with my some problem ?

I just purchased the new pack from battlefront, i completed the payment via paypal.. but i only received from battlefront one email with the current order status.. no activation key.. paypal confirmed my succesful payment with an email also.. i was redirected to battlefront site.. but no download option in the page..
I see in Downloads Section of Battlefront site an item called "Customer Downloads".. is here that i must go and use a previous license key ?

I just checked the section "My Account" and the last item (the vehicle pack) is in a state defined "pending"..
Could it be that Battlefront still didn't received money from paypal even if paypal confirmed my payment ?

Problems I had, Chrome treated the download as follows:

CMBN Vehicile Pack.zip is malicious, and Chrome has blocked it.

Had to change my settings... lost the first download!

Downloaded now... but will leave set-up, until I have another version running on the PC. From the bit I read it may not be compatible with other versions.

This vehicle pack sure is a lobster of doom, especially with that activation process...

Can I ask another (and possibly stupid) question - so this vehicle pack. Is it just a vehicle pack or is it a software update and a vehicle pack?

I am guessing if the answer is the latter BF will say its to incorporate the new game features (so adding flamethrowers perhaps). But wouldn't it be better if updates were just that - and mods (like a vehicle pack) just came in at whatever the current game level was...

From a gamers point of view the proliferation of essential upgrade mods will kill the community - not everyone is going to always upgrade - and any serious gamers (as found on this venerable forum) will struggle to run decent sized campaigns if people keep falling by the wayside with incompatible mod versions.

Sorry did I just call us serious... (Well you know what I mean.) And hey if its just a vehicle pack then great.

Oh and as a postscript - I agree with all the comments about activation codes - software madness taken to a new level.

Not a stupid question. ;)

I think the Vehicle Pack is some kind of hybrid, since it fundamentally changes the games activation system, along with some unnamed bug fixes and new vehicles. So it is definitely a new version of CMBN.
I don't understand why this had to be done with the Vehicle Pack and not with the CMBN and CMFI v3.0 upgrades. It's another ad-hoc measure BFC apparently had to take because their plans didn't work out the way they expected. So now the change of the activation system had to be combined with the Vehicle Pack. This is not a rant against BFC, btw. Just my observations and opinion. :)
