CMRT - first impresions

I have played first tiny scenario
Night, rain, small train station and Ivans inside .... It wasn't easy task for my infantry but splinting teams, covering fire and assault with grenades finished small Russian detachment - I lost 5 men because of PPSch fire of last remaining squad leader ...
I like it....

Smoother movement but still buggy shadows that are FPS drain. Oh an a dead cow in the first (smallest) mission.

A lot of small things around houses - wooden wheelbarrow, posters, well etc Really good atmosphere of Russian village.
I have tried to set fire on wooden cottage - no success

No environmental damage with fire weapons yet. That's probably CM 4.0. BF forums - Steve reported it's another big coding job, something to do with introducing more code for changing terrain states. Something like that.

I had to turn off the 'High priority process' to off, and my PC is only 7 months old .
To be fair, it was a hell of a big map (Baranovichi battle).

You probably seen this but over at BF they commented about a new shader fix that was not shipped with the game. I believe it is to be released as a separate file or Hot fix.

There is some minor and temporary fire effects from the flame throwers in game. But nothing extensive yet.

Dead cows and dead horses are under 'Farm' in the doodads selections.

Ahh. I figured it out now. Under "Farm" in the scenario editor there are nine green buttons under for different "Farm" items. You think they would have put pictures down there so you would know what you are picking instead of just numbering them 1 through 9?

Have you guys tried this yet? I posted it under the thread titled F'd up. Maybe I should have picked a better title to get everyone's attention. This is a bug that could cause a tiny bit of 'cheating' in QB games. Highly doubted from the guys from this group but elsewhere maybe.

It is possible to take a conscript/poor Panther tank for several hundred points less than an Elite one. So what? Well, If I purchase a conscript/poor Panther and also take an Elite highly skilled HQ team I can still end up with an Elite Panther. How? During setup you dismount your poor Panther crew and replace them with your highly skilled Elite HQ team. They will jump on the back of the dismounted tank and decided to take over its command. In fact I believe any team that is smaller or the same size of the crew will jump in and command the tank. So if you want your team to sport a FT to toast any baddies when they are assaulted and dismounted, you can.


POOR CONSCRIPTED PANTHER CREW------SITTING BESIDE THEM A HIGHLY TRAINED ELITE HQ TEAM.

NOW I DID THE OLD SWITCHAROO. DISMOUNT THE POOR TANK CREW AND MAKE THEM GO TAKE A WALK AND HAVE YOUR HIGHLY MOTIVATED ELITE HQ CREW COMMAND YOUR CAT.

Nothing against the testers but I wonder sometimes. I have beta tested numerous games over at Matrix and understand things get missed. But this game is pretty much the same thing over and over from release to release. Yeah, the update somewhat and come out with some new things but they should be tested over and over by the beta crew. They should open it up to more people if they only have a limited number. Or out with the old to get some new looks on the game.
