Well if you make the background semi opaque like the way I have the current banner it will let the colour of the actual forum shine through. Or do we want a solid header.. I dont know.

Well, bigger headline and maybe a different font, although that's up to you. And I'd try to get a hex overlay of a wargame scene (like one of the HPS games screenshots) - still feeling a bit bland to me. That I'm not particularly fond of photographs in banners is a matter of personal taste and may be ignored. :redface:
