FOG Medieval: Crusades Mini Campaign

It might have been the terrain to some degree but I really don't like the Saracen army. The infantry are unreliable, no crossbows at this stage and horse archers just have to carry all the weight. Give me another six turns and I'll get my head around them though LoL

They need room to maneuver for the horse archers to do their stuff :)

The second battle for ACRE has been completed and it ended with a Major Defeat for the Saracens. (52-18%)

This gives the Crusader side both Initiative Points for the next turn.

BATTLE 1: ACRE -- @Nathangun vs @Cargol -- Major Muslim defeat

BATTLE 2: TRIPOLI -- @chiquichops vs @Rico -- Major Muslim Defeat

TURN 4

For Turn 4 the Crusaders have two Initiative Points available and a great chance to secure the Holy Land -- if the Crusaders manage to capture both Damascus and Edessa it'll be scored as an Overwhelming Victory. :2charge:

Crusaders will attack DAMASCUS from Acre -- I will command that battle.

Second attack will be ALEPPO from Antioch -- @Cargol will take command there.

Sultan @chiquichops -- who will command on the Saracen side?

The battle to defend Aleppo is underway. It's a pretty cagey affair. A little skirmish on the Christian right is all that's on offer so far. I'll post screenshots soon.

DAMASCUS has fallen to a Crusader Major Victory.

It was always going to be a tough fight for @Nathangun -- the cramped map definitely favoured the Crusader side once I charged across the stream with a solid block of spears and crossbows.
The Saracen cavalry had no room to move or deploy properly.

Score now stands at 18 - 8 in favour of the Crusaders.

I think we can call this one... the last turn can't affect the Victory level standings any more -- to achieve an Overwhelming Victory, Crusaders need to capture EDESSA, which isn't possible anymore.

If one side controls both JERUSALEM and DAMASCUS and have a higher score, they win a Major Victory.

So it ends as Major Victory for the Crusaders!

Was a lot of fun @Nathangun @Cargol @chiquichops -- maybe once I'm back from travels and we have Roman Campaign under way, we can refight this one with sides reversed?
