Wow, this is really so impressive that I have to ask if it's really true?

Haven't read into it, but my "spider sense" is tingling...
 
Pretty sure most German fighter pilots had no difficulty identifying bombers found over the Fatherland.
If they found one it was an enemy.

He might be pointing out the bomber's weak points, where the gun turrets are, and the best attack directions.
