Sherman tank named “Tokyo Express†disabled on Iwo Jima. Sherman got stuck in a crater on Iwo Jima after an artillery shell landed behind the tank, damaging the engine. See the wood affixed to the sides for extra armor, and welded on nails to the hatches to prevent enemy from attacking the crew.
