I have long been a fan of the Battletech Sci Fi genre, playing almost all of it's iterations, from tabletop miniatures (I have a sizable collection) to the latest offering, which I present here today. The game is in 'Closed Beta' right now with a scheduled release date of around Xmas. They are currently allowing those who sign up for their Founders program to participate in the closed beta, but since there is an NDA, you won't see much written about the progress they are making.Though I have heard through the grapevine that a late year release is still on schedule.

I've been waiting for this addiction for a long time.
 
Might be time to retire this laptop and build the new desktop.
 
Looks like they are trying to keep mechwarrior tactics as close to the original battletech as possible. Cant wait to play.
 
When you get in let me know and we can run together, it will be good to have a mate to watch my 6...

What is your current game of choice that you would need the vent server?
 
MWO open beta starts on 29 October. I have been playing the cosed beta and so far so good.

Did you buy a 'Founders' package?
If you did, then you are automatically included in the Closed Beta.
If you did not, then you must wait for the Open Beta which is 'SUPPOSED' (their record for meeting deadlines during Beta is less than stellar) to be starting up on Monday Oct 29th.
Look forward to seeing you guys in game. The Merc company I joined (The Blazing Aces), has tightened their recruiting down, but they allow for current members to invite friends into the recruiting queue, something I can offer to FGM members.
 
The Founders packages are no longer on sale (ended Oct 14th) So if you don't have one, you will have to wait for Open Beta as I'm sure they are no longer looking at applications to get into Closed Beta since Open Beta is so close. As for taking a run in the game, you will have to wait for Open Beta. As of today, they are saying that Open Beta starts tomorrow, so you won't have long to wait.
Do you have the ability to use Teamspeak3? You will find a headset and mic invaluable to play, as trying to type to your teammates while piloting is near impossible once things start heating up. The Blazing Aces use TS3 and is a requirement for joining.
