I heard it's visible quite far south at the moment. There's a big solar storm going on. Looks lovely, very pretty.
 
Interesting that the solar storms around the 10th were compared to the Carrington Event of 1859. Auroras visible all over the place.
Luckily, we didn't have damage, like satellites falling from the sky, or electrical power damage like the Halloween Solar Storms of 2003.
The power of the Sun is amazing. So far away (149 million kilometers!) but so damn BIG (Earth is like a little pebble). All hail Ra, the falcon-headed sun god.

Your lucky. It was overcast hear last night.
One article said to take a picture with your phone camera because it is more sensitive to light and you may be surprised by what you see.
Thats exactly what I did... I could only see a faint hue with my eyes but once I put the phone up it just blossomed on the screen.
