Thanks all!
I spent time last evening getting caught up on Konrad. The Round 4 threads made for some interesting reading - and it was also motivating. There were some great battles, there were some hopeless battles, much like real life.
@jackal fought
@Brille to a draw in Dorog, eliminating battalions on both sides.
@Drifter Man defeated
@Bleskaceq at Germely.
@dkchapuis and
@Monty's Mighty Moustache cease-fired at Csakvar about halfway through, with loss of interest being a consideration. Based on how the match had unfolded, I don't have much doubt that this would have been German victory if it had gone full time.
@Spoogles defeated
@Guardsman at Osi.
@Shady Side and
@Gorst 's game at Balatonfokajar is unfinished with about 20 minutes left. Based on the current match state, it is probable that this would have resulted in a Soviet victory.
@Cargol and
@Aurelius ' game on long-suffering Margit Island is unfinished. Based on the current match state, it is probable that this would have resulted in a Soviet victory and occupation of Margit Island.
With that in mind, I updated the campaign map:
Since the Soviet counterattack at Csakvar failed, the Germans can use their "Once per Campaign" option to advance to Bicske.
With all that in mind, and with 3 Rounds left, it does appear that the campaign is still in the balance. So, I am willing to resume if enough players are. I totally understand if folks are just done. Just let me know - and thanks to those that already did so. 6 of 7 respondents to date are "in." I'll give the others some time, as I don't know how active they are nowadays.
I will need to replace one person, and probably 1-2 more. That may take a bit of time and I'll post for this on the main board once I know there is sufficient interest amongst you "core" players.
I have most of the Round 5 maps made/selected and they will just need tweaking based on whether they are Attack or ME's. My goal is to issue smaller maps such that all battles go back to 30 minutes. 45 minutes is just taking too long. (I had a lot of time to just lay flat and think about what I would have done differently for the campaign, so there is ...a lot
). If I do another campaign, there is certainly a lot to learn.
