The Crazy Eight Tournament

I like to think of the force pick as part of the battle. It's all strategy, baby. And since I'm basing the tournament on ladder standings, it'll definitely count towards the ladder :D
 
THE RULES (UPDATED)-

  1. The tournament is three rounds. Each round is a mirror match.
  2. Player who scores the most VP in their match advances.
  3. Allies can select Americans or Brits, Axis can select German Army/Waffen SS.
  4. Allied player always sends the first file (so you should send a first turn and receive one at the start of the round).
  5. Mod selects maps, conditions and initial pairings.
  6. Rarity is set to standard, difficulty elite.
  7. Players are allowed (and encouraged) to cherry pick their forces (but Hedgehog can let the computer pick ;))
  8. No preplanned arty/mortars or TRPs.

Is everyone cool with this? The only rule I'm curious on everyone's opinion is rule #3. Personally I don't see a problem with say, one player picking Brits and SS and the other player picking Yanks and German Army. Do you guys think that's an issue?

Also, is everyone ok with the rarity and difficulty?
 
Aye Captain. Rule number 3 if fine because the matches are mirrored so the lads can choose as they see fit. So no restrictions on armour? (other than the rarity is standard)

@Pekische If you don't have all the modules, let your opponent know so that he doesn't select any units that you can't load. You can press "spacebar" in the force selection screen to see what formations and units belong to which modules.

@Floki No restrictions on armor. Choose whatever units the map favors. Fight dirty.

Thank you @Nathangun for taking the time to pick the map and pairings for us! The map looks like quite an interesting challenge.

Make sure map preview is ON for both sides.

Post here when you get your matches started. Feel free to post any good screens or stories from your battles, just be careful not to give anything away to your opponent till after the match is over :) We'll post the results here as well when we get to it.

Okay I don't know how the other matches are going but @Shorker and I are about 2 minutes in and we are having an absolute blood letting in both matches. Here is a little video I put together called "Pantherus Invictum" or in plain English....."Shorker's Panther that just won't fu#@ing die!" (just joking of course)
