And sorry about pushing for PBEM++ thats on ehell of a crock that I didnt believe until I seen it myself. Sheesh.
No worries. Wow, you didn't see the end screen either - that sucks and blows chunks. It does seem to hold together if you play out the battle but yeah lots of games end with a cease fire and a non trivial number end with surrender. It really should work.

@OnePingOnly this is an absolute shambles you have wiped me of the map. I have ceasefired (didnt want to surrender in case we dont see the end screen). So if you wanna ceasefire and take a Total Victory that would be appreciated.
I'm fine with that @Bootie . Can't imagine it is fun for you at this point, just getting blasted by tank shells, waiting on my infantry to catch up. @Rico , you OK with that, since I don't have troops on both objectives yet?

A new happening for me: 81mm mortar took out a tank - disabled another one to boot. I certainly got my money's worth from that part of my force.

I though something interesting had happened when a place I though a tank was hiding suddenly had smoke coming up. Later I saw a tank in the same vicinity and then I figured the smoke was from a HT or truck that was hit instead. Nope the 81mm mortar KO'ed on and immobilized the other. My Sherman took it out easily later.

Thanks for the game @Nort It is one I will remember.
 
Hey @Bootie - Did you send back a final turn? I have not seen an end screen. If you just haven't gotten to it yet, no worries. I was just concerned that maybe we got afflicted with the PBEM bug.
 
I didn't get a final turn back from my CF with Bootie. I got an e-mail from Slithering saying:

"Dear OnePingOnlyCM,

I've never used the PBEM before, and I think I'll refuse to do so in the future.

I honestly can't imagine how hard it is to code sending the last turn back after a CF or surrender, because the game literally does that every other turn.:mad:

Well, it's not supposed to be. It works fine for some people most of the time. But....

Correct due to whatever bug this is you will never see the end screen. In the game @Bootie and I played neither of us saw the end screen. I had not heard of that happening before.

I hear you but the issue is trying to shoe horn an app that works one way into another that works a different way is actually quite difficult. Aka I would recommend either: Don't or; Plan a much bigger project to rework parts of each to mesh together in a better way. Sadly you had a clash of "well this works just fine for us and every other program we wrote so get with the program, we aren't changing anything" against "this needs to be done yesterday, cheap as possible, don't invest time".

Having said all that I did find out that one thing can make a significant difference - entering your email. The game will log in with the user name and password and the email blank but some stuff will not work properly then. If you make sure you enter the email that matches the account a bunch of things get better. Yes, that is insane. No, it does not fix everything. Yes, I still agree with you that no one here should be playing PBEM++.
