As answer to Bootie's question =
One solution can be :
Parachutes are seen as vechiles. If at the start of the mission you place the player next to the parachute. Next, in the player units screen by "special" change from 'in formation" to ??? (forgot what its called)
This will make the player start the game mounted in the nearest vechile, and this is thus the parachute.
 
Hm... trying to implement a parachute assault? I#d still like to see a helicopter assault like in 'We Were Soldiers', only CoD style. :biggrin1:

Remember, though, parachutes are notoriously difficult to steer (it actually took me a about a dozen tries to hit the damn LZ in the tutorial) and if we don't do a "regular" drop we'd very likely all end up a mile or more away from our objective - in which case you could save yourself the trouble and have us go in on foot in the first place.
 
lol, done the para drop tutorial and hit the LZ 2 times out of 10. Bad stats there.
